Learning to Sit With Uncertainty
Last month, while we were floating through the Grand Canyon, I kept noticing how little we could see beyond the next bend in the river. We knew where we were going, but we couldn't see what was coming.
I've thought about that a lot since then, especially as I've been getting ready to launch Arise.
There are certainly things I've planned and prepared for, but there are also plenty of things I simply can't know yet. Who will find me? What will Arise become? Where will this new chapter lead?
And honestly, I've never been someone who needs to have every detail figured out before I move forward. There's a little bit of "let's see what happens" in me.
But even for someone who is comfortable taking a leap now and then, uncertainty can still be uncomfortable.
I'm learning to let some of that uncertainty be there without feeling like I need to resolve it.
Sometimes we take the next step and trust that we'll see more of the path as we go.
Maybe that's enough for now.
I'm trying to remember that as I begin this new chapter with Arise.
