Questions You May Have
How do I know if Arise is the right place for me?
People come to Arise for many different reasons. You may be seeking a deeper spiritual life, feeling overwhelmed by anxiety or stress, navigating grief, or facing a significant life transition. If you're looking for a compassionate place to pause, reflect, and explore what comes next, Arise may be a good fit.
What happens during a session?
Every session is different because every person's journey is different.

Some days you may want space to process what's happening in your life. Other times we may explore patterns, practices, or questions that help you move toward greater clarity, healing, or hope.

There is no pressure to have everything figured out before we begin. We simply start where you are.
Do I need to be religious or Christian?
No. While my work is grounded in the Christian tradition and I'm comfortable talking about faith, I meet each person with respect for their own beliefs, questions, and experiences. You're welcome here whether your faith feels strong, uncertain, or whether spirituality simply isn't an important part of your life right now.
Â
Our conversations begin with you—your story, your hopes, and what feels most meaningful to you.
How is spiritual companioning different from counseling?
Spiritual companioning isn't about giving advice or fixing problems. It's a space to slow down, reflect, and pay attention to what's happening within you—emotionally, spiritually, and personally.

Some people come with questions about God or faith. Others come because they're navigating grief, anxiety, a life transition, or simply longing for greater clarity and peace. Wherever you begin, we'll explore your experience together with curiosity, compassion, and respect.
Can I come for anxiety, grief, or life transitions even if I don't consider myself religious?
Absolutely. Many people come to Arise because they're looking for compassionate support during a difficult season of life. Some want to explore questions of faith, while others simply want a place to be heard and find clarity. You're welcome wherever you are in your spiritual journey, and we'll always honor your beliefs, questions, and comfort level.
How long is each session, and how often do we meet?
Sessions are 50 minutes, giving us time for thoughtful conversation without feeling rushed.
Where do the meetings take place?
Currently, I offer sessions virtually ensuring flexibility and comfort. This allows me to support people across the Baltimore/DMV area and beyond. We will meet through a secure, confidential video platform.
What if I'm not sure what I need?
That's perfectly okay. Many people begin with a general sense that something feels overwhelming, uncertain, or different. We can explore that together and discover what would be most helpful.
Do you offer virtual sessions?
Yes. I offer private online sessions as well as in-person appointments in the DMV/Baltimore area.
What are your fees?
My fee is typically $125 per session. I also reserve a limited number of reduced-fee spaces because I believe support should be accessible. If cost is a concern, please reach out. We can have a conversation about what may be possible.
Will you tell me what I should do?
My role isn't to tell you what decisions to make. Instead, I'll listen carefully, ask thoughtful questions, and help you gain clarity about what matters most to you. Together, we'll explore your options and discover the next step that feels right for you.
Is everything confidential?
Yes. What you share during our conversations is kept confidential, with the exception of the legal and ethical situations in which I am required to act to protect your safety or the safety of others. If you have questions about confidentiality, I'd be happy to discuss them with you.
Still have questions?
I would be happy to speak with you.
Reaching out is a brave and important forst step.
